Legislative Changes in Tourism: MPs from 'Progressive Bulgaria' and the National Tourism Board Discuss Priorities
A meeting was held in Sofia between representatives of the parliamentary Tourism Committee and the leadership of the National Tourism Board. The main goal of the conversation was to discuss the current challenges facing the sector and the necessary legislative steps for its development.
The discussion included the deputy chairman of the committee Yassen Shterev, as well as members Vesela Momcheva-Town and Georgi Kunchev, representing 'Progressive Bulgaria'. On the business side, the Executive Director of the National Tourism Board Polina Karastoyanova and the deputy chairman of the organization Martin Zahariiev were present.
Among the leading topics of the meeting were:
- Improving the regulatory framework and legislation in the sector;
- Building a long-term national development policy;
- Strengthening international advertising and the development of the 'Bulgaria' brand;
- Maintaining a constant dialogue between the state and business.
Yassen Shterev emphasized that as a majority in the committee, the MPs are committed to turning the proposals into real legislative decisions. He added that the committee will be oriented towards achieving concrete results to support the tourism sector.
The meeting participants reached a consensus that effective partnership between legislators and business is crucial for the sustainable development of Bulgarian tourism on the international stage.
