Birmingham Honors the Memory of Ozzy Osbourne with the First Edition of 'Ozzy Day'

The city of Birmingham, England, is preparing to host the first edition of a special event called "Ozzy Day." The initiative is dedicated to the memory of the rock legend and Black Sabbath icon – Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away a year ago at the age of 76.

The program is designed to span the entire day and guide fans through key moments of the musician's creative journey. Participants will be able to visit places that bear his name or are closely linked to his legacy, including the iconic Black Sabbath bridge and bench, the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, as well as New Street central station.

The musical portion of the celebrations will be exceptionally rich. Performances are expected from the five-piece brass ensemble Bostin Brass, who will join the funeral procession, as well as a large-scale concert by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Specially for the occasion, the mechanical bull "Ozzy the Bull," which became popular during the 2022 Commonwealth Games, will also be decorated.

The event comes at a moment of recognition for the musical legacy of the band Black Sabbath, who will be honored with the special title "Freedom of the City" in June 2025. On the day of tribute to Ozzy, his wife Sharon Osbourne shared emotional words about their long-standing relationship, emphasizing the strength of their love, which transcends even death.
