The Greek tourism sector is undergoing a fundamental transformation. According to the new leadership of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), the main challenge facing the industry is no longer just increasing the number of visitors, but enhancing the quality of the offered product and the sustainability of the destinations themselves.

The President of SETE, Agapi Sbokou, emphasized that the next stage in Greece's development will be determined by the country's ability to generate higher economic value for businesses and local communities, while simultaneously distributing benefits more evenly.

The Six Pillars of the Greek Tourism Strategy

The organization's new leadership outlined six strategic priorities that will be leading their program:

One of the key focuses in the new vision is also the need for clear regulation of short-term residential rentals, which is a topic of debate across Europe. At the same time, through a new action plan with the Ministry of Tourism, Greece will focus on the development of niche segments such as mountain tourism, agrotourism, and gastronomy.

"The future of Greek tourism will not be measured solely by the number of visitors, but by our ability to turn dynamics into stable and high-quality value," Sbokou concluded.
