IMF: Milei's Reforms Stabilized Argentina's Public Finances

Argentina is achieving a significantly more stable financial position thanks to the economic reforms implemented by President Javier Milei, stated Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This was stated at the beginning of her two-day official visit to the country.[

Macroeconomic Transition and Challenges

Despite the positive assessment of financial stability, the head of the IMF emphasized that the transition period is complex. "Persistence and maintaining macroeconomic and financial stability provide benefits," Georgieva stated, noting that this is her first visit to Argentina since taking office.[

At the same time, she expressed concern regarding the increasing rate of informal employment in the country. Georgieva recommended that local authorities direct their efforts toward improving credit conditions to support the economic upswing.[
