Musical Opening at the "Melnitsa" Stage
The 17th edition of the "Days of the Classics in Balchik" festival opened with an impressive concert by the Dobrich String Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Arto Chifchiyan. The world-renowned pianist Donka Angheva (Vienna) also participated in the opening night of the musical forum at the "Melnitsa" stage. The audience enjoyed works by composers such as Marcello, Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Adinsel, and Shostakovich.
Exhibitions and International Ensembles
Parallel to the musical events, the exhibition "Horizons of Stone and Sea" by Balchik artist Nadezhda Alexandrova is located in the Ritual Hall of "Melnitsa." The exposition will be available to visitors until the end of the festival.
The program continues with the project "Classical Like Never Before" by the international ensemble The Eastern Quartet, consisting of Atanas Marinov (clarinet), Sorin Spasivnovich (viola), Serafim von Vera (accordion), and Dominik Blum (piano). The performers will present works by Brahms, Piazzolla, Dinicu, Monti, Khachaturian, Albinoni, Curia, Vivaldi, and Paganini.
Upcoming Events in the Program
The festival will continue with the following highlights:
- July 27: A concert by the Gabrovo Chamber Orchestra with conductor Ivan Stoyanov and soloists Emilian Tilev (bassoon) and Ivaylo Angelov (viola).
- July 28: The performance of "Zarzuela" by the State Opera – Burgas under the direction of Strazimir Pavlov.
- July 29: The concert "Gypsy Melodies and Other Passions" by Shumen Philharmonia with violinist Zorница Ilariyonova.
- July 30: A closing evening with a 3D hologram concert-spectacle by the piano duo Georgi Cherkin and Martina Tabakova, featuring Vratsa Philharmonia under the direction of Hristo Pavlov.

All concerts are held at the "Melnitsa" open-air stage starting at 19:30. In case of bad weather, the events will be moved to the complex's concert hall. Admission to all festival evenings is free.
